Enjoy this photo album from our rom our trip to England in September of
2003. To view a larger version of the thumbnails, simply click on them.
Here's a rundown of the photos. #1. A street in the Sarehole
area of Birmingham. #2. This is the house where young
J.R.R. Tolkien lived. He recounted the years spent in
this home as some of the happiest in his life. #3. The
plaque at the Sarehole Mill where young "Ronald"
Tolkien played with his brother Hillary. #4. Josh at work
in the upper rafters of the Sarehole Mill. #5 The exterior
of this old Mill. Some say it was the inspiration for
the Mill in Hobbiton. #6. The Mosely Bog. May have been
inspiration for The Old Forest or Fangorn or Mirkwood.
This was within walking distance of Tolkien's residence
in Sarehole. #7. Mikey, Josh and Cliff at dinner. I just
loved this picture because of Josh & Cliff's serious
expressions. #8. Mikey and Josh clowning around at the
restaurant.
