Hobbiton, USA Photo Gallery
Enjoy this photo album from our production trip to Hobbiton, USA in Northern California. Hobbiton is only open from May to September and is located near Phillipsville, California. To view a larger version of the thumbnails, simply click on them.
Picture 1) Bilbo rescues the dwarves from the spiders of Mirkwood,
killing one with "The Sting." (I don't think they
mean the 1973 film starring Robert Redford and Paul Newman.)
#2) The map from "The Hobbit." #3) Umm...a castle.
(Does anyone else remember a castle in the Hobbit? I don't!)
#4) Gollum (Classic!) #5) A sign telling you that you're
in Middle Earth (But Professor Tolkien spelled it Middle-earth.)
#6) Gandalf and Bilbo outside of Bag End. #7) Aragorn in his
Bakshi inspired mini-skirt and Go-Go boots. #8) The Shire with
Bag End.
